The requirements of plastics polishing
The term plastic covers a large number of polymers, all different from each other.
Acetate, acrylic, polycarbonate, plexiglass, all these plastics have interesting characteristics compared to glass or ceramics.
Polishing a plastic is, for example, easier than polishing glass.
Scratches that appear over time on the surface of polycarbonate or acetate can be removed by polishing.
Polishing polycarbonate, acrylic, acetate or plexiglass requires a specific know-how because the material must not be heated.
The composition of the polishing compound and the consistency of the buffing mop will be key elements to obtain the desired surface finish.
